What is hypnotherapy & what happens during a session?
During hypnosis I will help you quiet down your conscious mind. This is the logic thinking part and makes up only 5% of your mind. When the “chatter” in your head is quiet, I will help you gain control over your unconscious mind. This is the part where all your memories, beliefs and habits are stored and it makes up 95% of your mind. This is the part where positive and supportive change over your thoughts, emotions, actions and reactions can be made permanently.
You will be totally awake during hypnosis and you can hear as well as being completely aware of your surroundings. It may feel like you are listening with your eyes closed, relaxed. You are in a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility. I will not “take control” of you during hypnosis, in fact, I act as a guide, taking you on a journey to a place in your mind where you can access resources and make desired change happen. You have the ability and control to accept or reject any suggestions.
You can talk, move yourself, break off the session or go deeper into trance all according to what you want to do. Hypnotherapy is an excellent tool for rewiring the brain and nervous system and some issues can be resolved quickly while others may take several sessions.
I teach mindfulness based tools and self- hypnosis that can help you strengthen healthy neural pathways and positive ways of thinking to support you reaching your goals.
